Guess Whos Birthday Is Today?!

It's Grandma's birthday today...although her soul is infinity now (or maybe always has been)! She almost made it to today..just 4 weeks too short. oh well. We can celebrate here and know she is watching us, maybe even laughing at how we celebrate our years here on this mortal, decaying, sad earth and thinking about how if we only knew how much better eternal life is.
You know we seemed to get so bummed out with the older we get, but maybe we should be happier, like it is a count to being closer to something else, something better. I don't know.
But anyway, birthdays, i feel, are also a celebration of someone's life-who they are to us and a reminder to them and ourselves how grateful we are that that person exists in our life.
So anyway, here is the Slide-Show I made for her funeral. I wasn't sure how else to get it up on here without using youtube because it is such a large file. Enjoy!
Here's to Martha Lois Winter! Happy Birthday! We love and miss you!

Hi Alayna,

Thanks for posting this as a birthday tribute to Baba. It is good to spend time remembering her, even if it's sad, at
the same time.

Layna,

Thanks for this post! It's been a really hard day for me, but you are right that birthdays are a celebration of someone's life and a chance to realize how grateful we are to have that someone in our life. I understand this now more than ever...

And, yes, grandma is just beginning an eternity with her Father. She is in unimaginable joy now. And although I am sorry for myself, I cannot be sorry for her.

Happy Birthday dearest mom! I hope your first birthday in Heaven was absolutely spectacular!

I love you.

Darn, when I clicked on the link, it had been removed due to length (YouTube is limited to 10 minutes, apparently).... is there any other way to view it? Meanwhile, thanks for the update, and for continuing down this path by honoring your Grandmother's birthday.... actually, she is celebrating her real birthday now, and for eternity!

Blessings, Heather

LOVE your video (viewed thru my tears, I had to back it up several times to see those special moments) and the music was perfect. Thank you SO much for sharing. Wow, what a trip down memory lane. I remember so many of those places, and Grandpa too. Really special. You are a VERY blessed family.... Love U All, H&B

Well, its been 3 months Mom. I miss you. I feel closer to you with your furniture here in my home that I can see everyday.Just had a mini breakdown when I found your blue coat in the box to give away. I could see u in it walking and looking at me with your little brown eyes. I buried my face in it and cried.I put it on and kept it. I will see u again someday, just like u now are with your mom. I love u with all my heart. Karen, Alayna's mom.
